PREPARING YOUR SCHOOL FOR THE QUARTET’S VISIT

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

The Pangaea Jazz Quartet consists of four musicians who perform in the jazz tradition: Kelly Brand on piano, Ari Brown on saxophones, Kelly Sill on string bass, and Avreeayl Ra on drums. All are professionals who live and work in the Chicago area. Each has performed extensively in concerts and clubs, recorded under their own names and with others, and instructed less experienced musical artists in their craft.

Their focused dedication to jazz is evident in their highly interactive and spontaneous versions of both standard materials and original compositions. They embrace jazz traditions and repertoire while infusing the music with an undeniable personal stamp.

The Pangaea Quartet strives to take each listener on an imaginative musical journey - the attentive listener will be rewarded.
