Make Music Chicago is a FREE citywide, daylong celebration on June 21 of everyone’s ability to make music. Throughout the day, people of all ages and musical abilities – beginners, amateurs, students, professionals, and marquee artists – gather to play free live music of all genres in public venues across the city.

As part of the global Fête de la Musique, Make Music Chicago, founded in 2011, joins 700 cities around the world – and almost 50 cities in the United States, including New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Denver, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. – in this annual celebration on June 21, the longest day of the year.

16 hours of music / 80 sites across Chicago / 250 performances / 1,500 musicians
